If you love watermelon, you will love this watermelon syrup. Watermelon Syrup tastes like a Jolly Rancher Watermelon hard candy. That’s my favorite! The great thing is you can now have this in your lemonade, or limeade or you can make Italian sodas with this liquid watermelon gold.
Watermelon Syrup is as easy as blending up fresh watermelon, straining it and then mixing it with sugar. It is so easy to make. The flavor of watermelon changes when you heat it, so you don’t want to add heat while making this syrup. You will be surprised how quickly you can have this ready for anything you can imagine to use it on.

How To Make Watermelon Syrup
1. Cut a large watermelon in half and then cut one of the halves into half again. Now you have a quarter of one watermelon. It takes about the whole quarter of the watermelon to make this syrup.
2. Cut the fruit out of the rind and then slice it into thin strips. Place this in a blender. Put the blender on high until the fruit is liquid.
3. Place a strainer over a bowl. Pour the liquid fruit in the strainer. The smaller the holes, the less pulp you will have in your syrup.
4. Pour one cup of sugar into a glass jar. Measure the watermelon juice into a glass measuring cup so you have 1 3/4 cup. Pour this over the sugar and then put on the lid for the glass jar.
5. Shake this continuously for 2 minutes. Let the syrup rest for one minute and then shake again for another minute.
6. Refrigerate this syrup. It will stay fresh for 4-5 days.
7. Use about 1/4 cup when adding to lemonade, limeade or anything else you can imagine.
