Chopped Italian Salad Sandwich is the latest Tiktok craze. Today I taped a segment on KSL Studio 5 demonstrating how to make these delicious sandwiches. Seriously, I was completely amazed how fabulous these sandwiches are. I have always been a huge fan of chopping ingredients in a salad into small pieces. Biting into a sandwich where every bite has exactly the same flavor and taste is splendid.
Chopped Italian Salad Sandwich is a quick and easy dinner. You can start with iceberg or Romaine lettuce and pile your favorite ingredients on top. I followed the suggestions of other influencers and used all the ingredients they used. Salami and pepperoni are not always the choices I would make, but the combination of flavors was a party in my mouth.

How to Make Chopped Italian Salad Sandwiches
1. Get all your ingredients gathered. Chopped Italian Salad Sandwiches have a lot of components, but come together quickly You need lettuce, turkey, ham, salami, pepperoni, pepperoncinis, provolone or mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, red onions, olive oil, red wine vinegar, mayonnaise, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
2. Next is the bread. You can purchase any sandwich bread that you like, but a sturdy roll will hold things together better. There is a lot of moisture with the lettuce and all the sandwich meats. You want something that will hold things together without falling apart.
Jimmy Johns sells their day old bread for $.50 a loaf. A fresh loaf is $2.00. This bread is the perfect bread for these sandwiches. Usually, the franchise store opens at 10:30 am. They freeze the bread from the day before, that is the day old bread you buy.
I purchased bread from Walmart and I was very unhappy with how stale and hard the bread was. One of Jimmy Johns selling points is the fresh bread they make daily.

3. Rough chop the lettuce and use this as the base of the salad/sandwich on a cutting board. Any lettuce will do. You can use Romaine or Iceberg, add in some spinach or arugula, whatever your heart desires.
4. Layer on slices of turkey, ham, salami, pepperoni and mozzarella or provolone cheese.

5. Slices tomatoes and a red onion. The thinner you can slice each of these the easier you will be able to chop up everything else. Drain the a small amount of the pepperoncinis and place these on top of the pile of ingredients..
6. Sprinkle on red wine vinegar and olive oil. Then add the Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Last add a dollop of mayonnaise.
7. Now you are ready to chop. It takes a minute or two (okay maybe about 5 minutes) to chop everything small enough to make the distinct taste of this sandwich. Keep chopping until everything is quite small.
8. Once the ingredients are small enough, load them into the bread you have chosen. If you want more salad and less bread, take some bread out of the deli roll. This is the way I like it!
9. Cut the sandwiches into smaller sandwiches, or jump in and start to enjoy!
