Looking for something to make for a large group of people for breakfast or brunch? You just found it with Creme Brulee Overnight French Toast. This is a great addition to any breakfast, brunch, shower or party. It is delicious and easy to make.

Creme Brûlée Overnight French Toast are beautiful caramel encrusted cream cheese filled sandwiches. These are a perfect addition to any menu. It takes about 30 minutes to prepare the sandwiches. Then they sit overnight in the refrigerator. Pull them out and bake for 35-45 minutes the next morning. Serve with whipped cream or sour cream and/or berries and fruit.

How to Make Creme Brûlée Overnight French Toast
1. Start with 30 slices of bread. Grandma Sycamore is always my white bread of choice. You can also use sourdough, or brioche. Sometimes sourdough comes in a round loaf with irregular shaped pieces of bread. This will make it more difficult to have uniform sandwiches. Try buying a sandwich bread type of loaf.
2. Using whipped cream cheese, spread a thin layer of cream cheese on 15 slices of bread. You can use regular cream cheese as well. The whipped cream cheese spreads so much easier. There is no taste difference. Just a spreading preference.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together first
3. Sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon sugar.
4. Place another piece of bread on top. You can leave the crusts on if you like. For the uniform look and ease of placing everything on the cookie sheet, I like to cut the crusts off. Cut each sandwich in half diagonally.
5. Heat the brown sugar, light corn syrup and butter in a small saucepan. You can melt these ingredients in the microwave also. Heat the butter and pour in the brown sugar and corn syrup. Cook and stir on medium heat for about three minutes.
6. Spread the brown sugar mixture on a large cookie sheet (1/2 sheet). This step goes fast, so be ready to work quickly. Place each sandwich on the cookie sheet on top of the brown sugar mixture. Keep the sandwiches close together. Try and smash in as many sandwiches as you can. You might need to make a couple more to fill in the space.

7. Lay five sandwiches across the long side of the cookie sheet. You will need to push them together. It will be tight. Continue to place the sandwiches on the cookie sheet. There should be three rows with five sandwiches in each row.
8. Using a whisk, mix the eggs and milk together. Add the vanilla at the end. Pour this over the sandwiches. Pour slowly so it does not go over the edges. Make sure all the bread is covered with the egg mixture.
9. Place plastic wrap on top and refrigerate overnight. Don’t have time to refrigerate over night? Let the egg and milk mixture soak in as long as you can.
10. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°. Take the plastic wrap off. Place the tray of sandwiches in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. You want the bread to be brown and fully cooked.
11. When fully cooked, take the French Toast out of the oven.
Make ahead, put into the refrigerator and bake in the morning.
12. Use a knife or metal spatula to cut each sandwich free from the pan. Flip each sandwich over to reveal the beautiful creme brûlée topping. Place each sandwich on a serving dish. If you have a big crowd, you can also cut each triangle in half to make smaller pieces. Creme Brulee Overnight French Toast is wonderful warm. It is also delicious at room temperature. This is what makes it so perfect on any brunch menu.
12. Whip the heavy cream and add the powdered sugar. Set this in a bowl next to the French toast with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries or any fruit of your choice. These can also be served with sour cream. Brown sugar and sour cream are a perfect pair.

- 30 Slices White Bread
- 8 oz. Whipped Cream Cheese
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Light Corn Syrup
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 6 Eggs
- 1 3/4 Cup Milk
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 2 Cups Heavy Cream
- 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries and Blackberries
Instructions
- Mix cinnamon and sugar together. Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on 15 pieces of bread. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on the cream cheese. Place one piece of bread on top of each bottom.
- Cut the crusts off each sandwich and then cut in half on the diagonal.
- Heat the brown sugar, light corn syrup and butter. You can do this in a saucepan on the stove or in the microwave. Once the butter is melted, mix well and pour on a large cookie sheet.
- Place the sandwiches in three rows with five sandwiches in each row. You will need to smash them together to make them all fit.
- Mix together the eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour on top of the bread, slowly. It can easily spill over the edges, so be careful as you pour. Each piece needs to have this mixture on it.
- Place pastic wrap over this and place in the refrigerator over night.
- The next morning, place in a 350° oven and bake 35-45 minutes. Look for brown edges on the bread before taking it out of the oven.
- After taking the French toast out of the oven, use a metal spatula or knife to separate each sandwich. Flip over each sandwich to reveal its caramelized top. Arrange on a large platter.
- Whip heavy cream and add powdered sugar. Serve in a bowl next to the French Toast with your choice of berries or fruit.
