Cutting a watermelon is easy to cut if you know what to do. I can cut a whole watermelon in about 10 minutes. No cutting off the outside skin, and not weird size pieces. The pieces in the directions below are cut equally into the same size if you make all the rows you cut the same size.. I will also give you lots of tips on how to find the best watermelon.

How to Cut a Watermelon in 10 minutes
1. Find the biggest watermelon that has a field spot on the bottom. The yellow spot on the bottom of the watermelon tells you it has been sitting on the ground/field which gives it a sweet taste. Many people look for bee stings. These are small cuts in the outside skin of the watermelon. Bees usually only want to sting the sweetest watermelons.
Starting with the right watermelon can make all the difference.
You don’t want a small watermelon. These melons are usually not ripe and will not be sweet. You might be saying, “But I don’t want a lot of watermelon, I just want a little.” My advise is throw away what you don’t want and eat the sweetest watermelon you can.

2. Cut the watermelon in half and then cut each half, in half again, so you have four quarters. Each quarter needs to be cut in the same way. Cut across one side of the watermelon like the picture above. Cutting from rind to rind and cutting as deep as you can in each row. Try and space out your rows to make the cuts the same size. This will ensure you have equally cut pieces.

3. Now cut across the other side of the watermelon with the same size rows as before. Once again cut from rind to rind only the flesh. Make sure your knife is going all the way through the flesh. The rind is much tougher and your knife should hit a hard spot, now you know you are at the rind. Start there and cut across the watermelon to the other side.

4. The next step is to cut across the rows of the watermelon you made before. This will make perfectly square pieces of watermelon. At this point, all the pieces that are not attached to the sides of the watermelon are ready to be dumped into a bowl. I usually wait, but you do what works for you.

5. The last step is to cut the flesh away from the rind. Cut in between the flesh and the rind on both sides of the watermelon. Try and get the knife as deep into the watermelon as you can. Of course, there is a curve in the watermelon so it will be difficult to get all the way around and through the deepest parts. This means you will need to cut it again once you get some of the pieces out of the way by pouring them into a bowl.
Try and cut each row of watermelon the same width to have perfectly square pieces.
6. Pour the cut watermelon into a large bowl. Then use your knife to cut away the pieces that are still stuck to the rind.

7. Do steps 2 – 6 again for each quarter of the watermelon. If you don’t want to eat the whole watermelon, put a piece of plastic wrap over the uncut watermelon still in the rind. Leave this in the refrigerator until you want some more. It will stay firm and fresh this way.
